When to call us

Call us before week 37 of the pregnancy if you…

…lose bright red blood.
…lose amniotic fluid (the waters break), irrespective of its color.
…have painful contractions every five or ten minutes for more than one hour. Painless contractions are normal.
…feel your baby move clearly less than you are used to or not at all. From about the 26^th week you feel your baby move a few times every day. You will be able to recognize this feeling quickly.
…have been given a deviant (echo) result.
…are worried.

…feel painful contractions of about a minute every four or five minutes for one or two hours.
…have an urge to press.
…lose amniotic fluid (the waters break). In this case pay special attention to the following:
if the amniotic fluid is clear and the baby’s head is engaged, call us during the daytime. Try and sleep during the nighttime. If you have been told during check-up that the baby’s head is not yet engaged, you should call us whether it is day or night. It is also advisable to lie down. If the amniotic fluid is brown or green, call us immediately, irrespective of the time of day.
…lose bright red blood. It is quite normal to lose some slimy blood at this stage, but losing a lot of bright red blood is not.
…feel your baby move clearly less than you are used to or not at all. From about the 26th week you feel your baby move a few times every day. You will be able to recognize this feeling quickly.
…are worried.
